It seems the older I am getting the worse it is. I have not finished a project in a long time. I think part of it is I have a couple of big projects going on right now. I dug out the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knotty-gloves" target="_blank">Knotty Glove</a> I started on awhile back and finished the right hand today. I also started working on the left one. Hopefully I can get it done soon. I love it when something gets finished. I'm almost there.<br />

It's been a crazy past couple of months. I can't believe that it is the last part of October. I have survived the first 9 weeks of Kindergarten. I love my class and they are so smart. I tell them that every day. I haven't been working on many projects since school has started. I did enter a couple of my things in the State Fair in September. I was very excited when I got these two ribbons.<br />

I am moving grade levels this year and moving to a new building. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I went to Goodwill the other day and scored 5 pillows and 3 pillow shams. I plan on using these for my window seat that I am going to create in my classroom. These should be a nice addition.</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YRyupNYuzec/Ti8QrkYzXzI/AAAAAAAAA94/D4GFqe8QVrg/s1600/IMG_0196.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YRyupNYuzec/Ti8QrkYzXzI/AAAAAAAAA94/D4GFqe8QVrg/s320/IMG_0196.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><br />
</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">I had a little help from Sadie. She felt the need to inspect my haul. I think she approves.</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cKsDHKJYP6I/Ti8QrI68MyI/AAAAAAAAA90/vXgGFbKxGeU/s1600/IMG_0195.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cKsDHKJYP6I/Ti8QrI68MyI/AAAAAAAAA90/vXgGFbKxGeU/s320/IMG_0195.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Sunday is our relax and do nothing day. We usually have movie marathons, but lately there hasn't been any good movies out. We ended up renting The Adjustment Bureau from Redbox. It was okay. I thought it was long. I usually am knitting or crocheting while watching TV and movies. Here is my next project that I am working on. I love these colors.</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"> I have also been working on curtains for my classroom. Man, this is a lot of fabric. I have a window that is 8 feet wide. I am just making a valence for the window. I love this fabric.</span></div><div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; color: #3d85c6; font-family: inherit; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br />

I looked back and haven't posted anything since May. I'm a looser :) Not really. I have gotten a lot accomplished this summer. <br />
<br />
Finally finished some landscaping.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fYIW3_xecuw/TiSNPHd7YjI/AAAAAAAAA8w/C6V-d2qkB3E/s1600/IMG_0081.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fYIW3_xecuw/TiSNPHd7YjI/AAAAAAAAA8w/C6V-d2qkB3E/s320/IMG_0081.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aWlS9nyRbno/TiSNR0G4wyI/AAAAAAAAA80/6cxMAqSUFQI/s1600/IMG_0079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aWlS9nyRbno/TiSNR0G4wyI/AAAAAAAAA80/6cxMAqSUFQI/s320/IMG_0079.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NmrRa7umXL4/TiSNTASQJVI/AAAAAAAAA84/nI0F6fMpCBg/s1600/IMG_0084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NmrRa7umXL4/TiSNTASQJVI/AAAAAAAAA84/nI0F6fMpCBg/s320/IMG_0084.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Our kitchen has been remodeled for almost years know. Then only thing we had to do was finish the trim around the island.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-09FulWez0lk/TiSN_0J1VpI/AAAAAAAAA88/QIeV0ptTzVw/s1600/IMG_0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-09FulWez0lk/TiSN_0J1VpI/AAAAAAAAA88/QIeV0ptTzVw/s320/IMG_0153.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YJzaeKMHgDw/TiSOAUJ7HlI/AAAAAAAAA9A/9T7mZPIwVWQ/s1600/IMG_0147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YJzaeKMHgDw/TiSOAUJ7HlI/AAAAAAAAA9A/9T7mZPIwVWQ/s320/IMG_0147.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EOuYBMma3DE/TiSOAmayfHI/AAAAAAAAA9E/tk8IqvsdNCE/s1600/IMG_0151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EOuYBMma3DE/TiSOAmayfHI/AAAAAAAAA9E/tk8IqvsdNCE/s320/IMG_0151.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4PNSc40xW0g/TiSOBuBh9DI/AAAAAAAAA9I/hxacqmMSYok/s1600/IMG_0152.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4PNSc40xW0g/TiSOBuBh9DI/AAAAAAAAA9I/hxacqmMSYok/s320/IMG_0152.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>So I add the trim and finished staining it. That is another project to mark off my list.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IzHz5DYt9MU/TiSOV6zT80I/AAAAAAAAA9M/bkgTNzsfcUQ/s1600/IMG_0167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IzHz5DYt9MU/TiSOV6zT80I/AAAAAAAAA9M/bkgTNzsfcUQ/s320/IMG_0167.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Had to enjoy some time at the lake with some fishing.<br />

The end of the school year is nearly here and it seems I am busier than ever. Life changes are happening and I feel like things are out of control right now. I am still behind on the Sock of the Month at my <a href="http://www.twistyarnshop.com/">LYS</a>. The Sock of the Month club started last June and I have just finished February's. It is called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lacy-scallops-socks">Lacy Scallops</a> by Sockbug. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TlnJbjQuXxM/Tc1WPIKflRI/AAAAAAAAA7E/8D1B4e0sR_E/s1600/IMG_0076.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TlnJbjQuXxM/Tc1WPIKflRI/AAAAAAAAA7E/8D1B4e0sR_E/s320/IMG_0076.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Here is a closer look at the pattern of the sock.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BM2eEjaPG0A/Tc1WPMABwSI/AAAAAAAAA7U/cV8Cqagi8A4/s1600/IMG_0073.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BM2eEjaPG0A/Tc1WPMABwSI/AAAAAAAAA7U/cV8Cqagi8A4/s320/IMG_0073.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z2aUgvAZFAU/Tc1WQN9U8eI/AAAAAAAAA60/YTVCvhu9jXg/s1600/IMG_0070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z2aUgvAZFAU/Tc1WQN9U8eI/AAAAAAAAA60/YTVCvhu9jXg/s320/IMG_0070.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
As soon as I finished the February socks I started March socks. The pattern is called <a href="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss10/PATTtwisted.php">Twisted</a> by Jodie Gordon Lucas. I am also trying a new set of needles with this sock. Instead of using a 36" cable I am using 9" needles. Interesting to use. Here is the beginning of the sock.<br />
<br />

Yesterday morning we woke up to a fog advisory until mid morning. Then in the afternoon we had severe thunderstorms, hail, a tornado south of town somewhere, then last but not least a 50% chance of snow. <br />
<br />
Hubby and I enjoyed a few cups of coffee before church. While he was surfing the net I fed my animals on Frontierville then continued working on my January sock of the month, Nippers. This is how far I am.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9eJ1gp7_8A4/TWsAYP3mAAI/AAAAAAAAAoI/9uNexa0qj8c/s1600/2011-02-26_13-18-47_562.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9eJ1gp7_8A4/TWsAYP3mAAI/AAAAAAAAAoI/9uNexa0qj8c/s320/2011-02-26_13-18-47_562.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I'm not sure about the yarn yet. I love the color of it, but the texture not so sure. I am hoping it is going to soften up.<br />
<br />
We then went to church and I came home and put a chicken in the smoker. I love smoked meat. It is so easy, I just put it in and let it cook all day. All I have to do it check on the amount of smoke chips. While the chicken is smoking I worked on my socks some more and wanted to join my girl Doxie in taking a nap.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oxmYKujfkkk/TWwOHNEYDwI/AAAAAAAAAoM/8ARHHMS5oE4/s1600/2011-02-26_13-18-18_238.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oxmYKujfkkk/TWwOHNEYDwI/AAAAAAAAAoM/8ARHHMS5oE4/s320/2011-02-26_13-18-18_238.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>But decided to play one of my favorite games with hubbie and son. BLOKUS! I rocked the game today.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TWwP0aj-8WI/AAAAAAAAAoc/0M6JuBSOyKQ/s800/2011-02-27_16-47-40_976.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TWwP0aj-8WI/AAAAAAAAAoc/0M6JuBSOyKQ/s320/2011-02-27_16-47-40_976.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TWwQLPe6PYI/AAAAAAAAAog/S2_ZMpF3QP0/s800/2011-02-27_17-14-25_716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TWwQLPe6PYI/AAAAAAAAAog/S2_ZMpF3QP0/s320/2011-02-27_17-14-25_716.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Hope you had a great, relaxing weekend.<br />

Last weekend my mom, who owns a local quilt shop here in town, hosted a quilt retreat weekend. It was a fun filled weekend. Lots and lots of sewing, laughing and catching up with old friends. I finished my <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-peasy-zigzag-socks">Easy Peasy Zig Zag Socks</a>. I love the yarn, it is Classic Elite Alpaca Sox. I love love love love this yarn. I think anything with Alpaca in it is wonderful!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-T30QJsICVhk/TWJUljicOPI/AAAAAAAAAmY/fsdn15ITnQ8/s1600/2011-02-20_10-46-04_74.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-T30QJsICVhk/TWJUljicOPI/AAAAAAAAAmY/fsdn15ITnQ8/s320/2011-02-20_10-46-04_74.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>The socks look a little long in this picture, but they fit like a glove.<br />
<br />
The second project I worked on was a pattern for a fleece hat called <a href="http://www.p2designs.com/pdfs/EasyFleeceHat.pdf">Quick and Easy Fleece Beanie</a> for our <a href="http://ksmystitch.blogspot.com/">Crochet Guild </a>charity project. This month we are making hats for one of the local hospitals and the teenagers that are receiving chemo treatments. I made 14 of these bad boys. They were quick and easy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ESwv4ATGUKY/TWJU4w69-gI/AAAAAAAAAmg/tUpEJcnxkpo/s1600/2011-02-20_10-46-17_592.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ESwv4ATGUKY/TWJU4w69-gI/AAAAAAAAAmg/tUpEJcnxkpo/s320/2011-02-20_10-46-17_592.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Another project I NEEDED to get made was a tote bag for work. This pattern is called the Junk Bag by a local designer <a href="http://www.jackieclarkdesigns.com/">Jackie Clark</a>. This is the second one I have made and I absolutely love this pattern. The bag is huge and can carry lots of goodies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-NcaiOwV2Rcw/TWJWFO8PueI/AAAAAAAAAm4/yhTkY8XZC84/s1600/2011-02-20_10-49-55_722.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-NcaiOwV2Rcw/TWJWFO8PueI/AAAAAAAAAm4/yhTkY8XZC84/s320/2011-02-20_10-49-55_722.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lR-_ziD6ZLg/TWJWWCg1QyI/AAAAAAAAAm8/PqWwn0Afv8U/s1600/2011-02-20_10-50-12_261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lR-_ziD6ZLg/TWJWWCg1QyI/AAAAAAAAAm8/PqWwn0Afv8U/s320/2011-02-20_10-50-12_261.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> I also made this sewing caddy that will set by my sewing machine. Love how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yGKDJad5MYA/TWJVPHsw5II/AAAAAAAAAmo/NEfeBQJMZWg/s1600/2011-02-20_10-47-06_157.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yGKDJad5MYA/TWJVPHsw5II/AAAAAAAAAmo/NEfeBQJMZWg/s320/2011-02-20_10-47-06_157.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

Had to make this cute chunky baby hat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ehgX5DyRads/TWJSWclOvwI/AAAAAAAAAl4/YLQ000pOdyQ/s1600/2011-02-20_10-41-31_190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-ehgX5DyRads/TWJSWclOvwI/AAAAAAAAAl4/YLQ000pOdyQ/s320/2011-02-20_10-41-31_190.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>I also made this adorable pink baby hat. A fellow co-worker is expecting in the next month, so I made her this. My favorite is the adorable pink flower.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g5Khrm89ZZA/TWJSyvoWuQI/AAAAAAAAAl8/BT6oOgj4AEc/s1600/2011-02-20_10-44-10_344.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g5Khrm89ZZA/TWJSyvoWuQI/AAAAAAAAAl8/BT6oOgj4AEc/s320/2011-02-20_10-44-10_344.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Almost forgot I had to make a little zipper pouch to go inside my new bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZuJeUPcaH3U/TWJTrh3WoYI/AAAAAAAAAmM/IlLlUXX89zU/s1600/2011-02-20_10-45-21_136.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZuJeUPcaH3U/TWJTrh3WoYI/AAAAAAAAAmM/IlLlUXX89zU/s320/2011-02-20_10-45-21_136.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I felt like I was a little sweat shop this weekend, but I loved every moment. <br />

I wasn't so sure when I was knitting it, but once I started blocking it I fell in love with it.<br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-6402726488021046422011-01-25T21:14:00.002-06:002011-01-25T21:21:34.562-06:00Another One Bites the DustI went to my LYS this weekend and met with some of the other ladies that have joined the Mitten of the Month Club. We discussed some ideas for upcoming mittens, even gloves, that we would like to try. I then asked the question "How do you pick up stitches without getting holes to fix when finishing the thumbs". No one had an answer, so I went to my trusty source Youtube and found <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coUORHiPymU">this video</a>. (I can't figure out how to show the video you will just have to click the link).<br />I gave it a try because I really didn't have anything to loose. It actually worked. I couldn't believe it. This is my first new thing I have learned this year. Hmm maybe I should work on learning one new thing a month.<br /><br />Also this weekend I finished my Dashing mittens. I didn't make them as long as the pattern calls for.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TT-E0Iau8qI/AAAAAAAAAlY/uMM0S8QDHz8/s800/2011-01-25_09-22-01_655.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 393px; height: 221px;" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TT-E0Iau8qI/AAAAAAAAAlY/uMM0S8QDHz8/s800/2011-01-25_09-22-01_655.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-57476412537087226022011-01-23T13:15:00.001-06:002011-01-23T13:21:14.107-06:00Rhetoric Sock<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TTx0XoUm52I/AAAAAAAAAk0/KVF-YSDB7cQ/s800/2011-01-23_12-31-26_213.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 285px; height: 160px;" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TTx0XoUm52I/AAAAAAAAAk0/KVF-YSDB7cQ/s800/2011-01-23_12-31-26_213.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Well folks the day has come. I finally finished my socks from November Sock of the month. I can't tell you how many times that I have ripped out the heal. Not just on one sock, but on both of them. This is not a difficult sock to knit. It is a little different. One way that it is different is the fact that it is toe-up. Another way that it is different is you don't pick up your gusset stitches you knit them as you go. I got a little confused. Two times. Oh well. I am finished with them and really like the way they turned out.<br /><br /><a href="http://goo.gl/photos/9jEb6jlTc7" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img style="width: 201px; height: 357px;" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TTx0yUCFnjI/AAAAAAAAAk4/zo_YajSsLn4/s512/2011-01-23_12-31-10_951.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-6132466056285437202011-01-22T09:00:00.000-06:002011-01-22T09:00:38.883-06:00Plant owner: 81 jobs at risk | McDowellNews.comWhile reading another blog this morning she was talking about this article, <a href="http://mcdowellnews.com/ar/711436/?sms_ss=blogger&at_xt=4d3af0b11b3586ab%2C0">Plant owner: 81 jobs at risk | McDowellNews.com</a>. LOVE the pom-poms.<br />

Here is the<a href="http://www.stitchtacsew.com/patterns/free-pattern-crochet-baby-pom-pom-hat"> link </a>to the pattern. <br />

She decided that she was going to crochet a baby blanket for the new bundle of joy. She then brought the extra yarn to work and asked if I would be able to crochet a hat, mitts and booties to go along with the blanket. She said that she wasn't comfortable enough yet in her crochet to do so. I told her that I would be glad to. This is what I came up with. I hope she enjoys them.<br /><br /><a href="http://crochetsoiree.blogspot.com/2010/05/52810-free-pattern-friday-baby-cardigan.html">Baby Hat</a> <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7ju5qwI/AAAAAAAAAic/ien3-c4sMB8/s1600/Baby%2BHat.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 135px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7ju5qwI/AAAAAAAAAic/ien3-c4sMB8/s320/Baby%2BHat.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560332479937227522" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://suzies-yarnie-stuff.blogspot.com/2009/12/suzies-worsted-weight-baby-mitts.html">Baby Mitts</a> <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7lIZymI/AAAAAAAAAik/3WAECqt8kFM/s1600/Baby%2BMitts.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 135px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7lIZymI/AAAAAAAAAik/3WAECqt8kFM/s320/Baby%2BMitts.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560332480312625762" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-booties-rain-boots">Baby Booties</a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7TF8C7I/AAAAAAAAAiU/YuMwqGpG_Ts/s1600/baby%2Bbooties.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 135px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSpE7TF8C7I/AAAAAAAAAiU/YuMwqGpG_Ts/s320/baby%2Bbooties.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560332475470449586" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />P.S. You can also click the title of the project and it will link you to the patterns on <a href="http://www.ravelry.com">Ravelry</a>. For you to be able to see the patterns you will have to create a profile for Ravelry. It's free and there are tons of patterns. This is the first place I go to when I am looking for patterns. Enjoy and have a productive day!<br /><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-19056453065503047212011-01-05T12:35:00.008-06:002011-01-05T13:37:17.238-06:00What the Heck Was I Thinking?Okay. I think I must be loosing my mind. I am getting further behind in my projects. I have signed up at the LYS for a Sock of the Month club. I was doing really well the first couple of months. I am currently on November's Sock. It is called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rhetoric">Rhetoric by Kiersten Brandt</a>.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSS7FHa6JSI/AAAAAAAAAhk/Mqa54uBYRlU/s1600/Rheotric%2BSock.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSS7FHa6JSI/AAAAAAAAAhk/Mqa54uBYRlU/s320/Rheotric%2BSock.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558773536647685410" border="0" /></a><br />I just finished one sock on Saturday. Grr.<br /><br />The sock pattern for December is <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-peasy-zigzag-socks">Easy Peasy Zigzag Socks by Julia Reide</a>.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHGwPIhbI/AAAAAAAAAh0/9ctYTKf05Jo/s1600/Easy%2BPeasy.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 180px; height: 239px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHGwPIhbI/AAAAAAAAAh0/9ctYTKf05Jo/s320/Easy%2BPeasy.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558786758923552178" border="0" /></a><br />Then the January sock pattern is <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nippers-socks"><b><i>Nippers</i></b> by Tanya Bangart.</a><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHYm5fbJI/AAAAAAAAAiE/fNnB9yWmRUM/s1600/Nippers.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 163px; height: 218px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHYm5fbJI/AAAAAAAAAiE/fNnB9yWmRUM/s320/Nippers.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558787065654504594" border="0" /></a><br />That is just the socks. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for the mitten of the month club in October. I did finish the October and November patterns for this club. I haven't even started the Mitten for December which is<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dashing"> <b>Dashing</b> by Cheryl Naimath</a>.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTG1EgNOpI/AAAAAAAAAhs/T048UNNRlV0/s1600/dashing1.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 212px; height: 162px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTG1EgNOpI/AAAAAAAAAhs/T048UNNRlV0/s320/dashing1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558786455126227602" border="0" /></a><br />Then I just got an email the other day for the January mitten, <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lotus-mittens"><b>Lotus Mittens</b> by Heather Desserud</a>.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHG5UFIEI/AAAAAAAAAh8/nGCFv_Kt51U/s1600/Lotus.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 168px; height: 286px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTHG5UFIEI/AAAAAAAAAh8/nGCFv_Kt51U/s320/Lotus.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558786761360220226" border="0" /></a><br />OMG!!!! Really. On the plus side I do have the yarn for the two mittens and all put January's sock. Now to make matters worse I went and signed up yesterday for this......<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTH-7Tz2GI/AAAAAAAAAiM/DdZhqGO9-eo/s1600/Great%2BAmerican%2BAfgahan.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TSTH-7Tz2GI/AAAAAAAAAiM/DdZhqGO9-eo/s320/Great%2BAmerican%2BAfgahan.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558787723968632930" border="0" /></a>What the heck was I thinking? Someone stop me before this madness gets out of control.<br /><br />I will keep you posted on the progress of this mess.<br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-73672487756608039732010-07-17T08:19:00.003-05:002010-07-17T08:27:12.910-05:00Well, I have found a new pattern. I am in love with it. I even think I have the perfect yarn for it. Problem. I still am not finished with this<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TEGuGRUv6tI/AAAAAAAAAaI/vy3hEoIM-Dw/s1600/Seneca.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TEGuGRUv6tI/AAAAAAAAAaI/vy3hEoIM-Dw/s320/Seneca.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494864443121593042" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />This pattern is called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seneca">Seneca by Jared Flood</a>. I love it, but for some reason I am having difficulties finishing it. GRRR. I have told myself that I am going to finish this sweater this summer. It has only been setting on needles since the beginning of December.<br /><br />I told myself this morning that I was going to work on it today. I don't think that is going to happen. I was on <a href="http://www.ravelry.com">Ravelry</a> and found this<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TEGu-7pCBkI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/Ta7iUIzxmYw/s1600/slink2_medium.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 302px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TEGu-7pCBkI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/Ta7iUIzxmYw/s320/slink2_medium.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5494865416553629250" border="0" /></a>The pattern for this is called <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-slink-2">Slink</a>. It looks like a fast knit and fun. I might even have the perfect yarn. Hmmm, what is a chik to do?<br /><br /><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-6539850479139867292010-07-12T13:20:00.002-05:002010-07-15T08:21:26.640-05:002x4 Socks<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TDtc01QLbcI/AAAAAAAAAZU/lPcv9BPCpmA/2010-07-12%2013.15.39.jpg"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TDtc01QLbcI/AAAAAAAAAZU/lPcv9BPCpmA/s400/2010-07-12%2013.15.39.jpg" /></a><p>Well here is another project finished. I found a pattern called <a href="http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/quarterlychallenge/APQ_QtrlyChal3.pdf">The Grab Bag</a> from <a href="http://curbly.com/diy-maven/posts/5008-free-grab-bag-pattern">Curbly's</a> website. I think I am going to modify the pattern just a little bit so when I am setting in the lawn chair in the evening I can hang it from the arm. I can't wait to start on this tomorrow.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TB_8pssc9yI/AAAAAAAAAZA/dmaHxwH-MK0/s1600/image002.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 198px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TB_8pssc9yI/AAAAAAAAAZA/dmaHxwH-MK0/s320/image002.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485380664462997282" border="0" /></a><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3695458981899831575.post-43463053725952112812010-06-18T08:03:00.003-05:002010-06-18T08:08:44.038-05:00When will my books get here?I am anticipating the arrival of two books in the mail.<br />The first is <a href="http://www.sallymelvilleknits.com/books.html"><strong><em>Mother-Daughter Knits, 30 Designs that Flatter and Fit (POTTER CRAFT, 2009)</em></strong></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TBtvjtez46I/AAAAAAAAAYw/zVyGmaWdmZY/s1600/Mother-Daughter_cover_opt.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 180px; height: 230px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TBtvjtez46I/AAAAAAAAAYw/zVyGmaWdmZY/s320/Mother-Daughter_cover_opt.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5484099630548640674" border="0" /></a><br />and the second one is <em><strong><br /><br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Opinionated-Knitter-Elizabeth-Zimmermann/dp/0942018265/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276866167&sr=1-5">The Opinionated Knitter</a></strong></em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Opinionated-Knitter-Elizabeth-Zimmermann/dp/0942018265/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276866167&sr=1-5"><br />— Elizabeth Zimmermann</a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TBtvuR84H-I/AAAAAAAAAY4/-lHLvUN5msg/s1600/OK.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 160px; height: 165px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9YiqBOA4zMs/TBtvuR84H-I/AAAAAAAAAY4/-lHLvUN5msg/s320/OK.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5484099812137115618" border="0" /></a><br />Can't wait to read them both.<br /><br />Donnachikwithyarnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10350678177500864999noreply@blogger.com0
