Sleepy Sunday

Well we have received about every type of weather you can think of.  Yesterday morning we woke up to a fog advisory until mid morning.  Then in the afternoon we had severe thunderstorms, hail, a tornado south of town somewhere, then last but not least a 50% chance of snow.

Hubby and I enjoyed a few cups of coffee before church.  While he was surfing the net I fed my animals on Frontierville then continued working on my January sock of the month, Nippers.  This is how far I am.
I'm not sure about the yarn yet.  I love the color of it, but the texture not so sure.  I am hoping it is going to soften up.

We then went to church and I came home and put a chicken in the smoker.  I love smoked meat.  It is so easy, I just put it in and let it cook all day.  All I have to do it check on the amount of smoke chips.  While the chicken is smoking I worked on my socks some more and wanted to join my girl Doxie in taking a nap.
But decided to play one of my favorite games with hubbie and son.  BLOKUS!  I rocked the game today.
Hope you had a great, relaxing weekend.

Weekend Warrior

Well what have I been up to?  Last weekend my mom, who owns a local quilt shop here in town, hosted a quilt retreat weekend.  It was a fun filled weekend.  Lots and lots of sewing, laughing and catching up with old friends.  I finished my Easy Peasy Zig Zag Socks.  I love the yarn, it is Classic Elite Alpaca Sox.  I love love love love this yarn.  I think anything with Alpaca in it is wonderful!
The socks look a little long in this picture, but they fit like a glove.

The second project I worked on was a pattern for a fleece hat called Quick and Easy Fleece Beanie for our Crochet Guild charity project.  This month we are making hats for one of the local hospitals and the teenagers that are receiving chemo treatments.  I made 14 of these bad boys.  They were quick and easy.

Another project I NEEDED to get made was a tote bag for work.  This pattern is called the Junk Bag by a local designer Jackie Clark.  This is the second one I have made and I absolutely love this pattern.  The bag is huge and can carry lots of goodies.

I also made this sewing caddy that will set by my sewing machine.  Love how it turned out.

Had to make this cute chunky baby hat.

I also made this adorable pink baby hat.  A fellow co-worker is expecting in the next month, so I made her this.  My favorite is the adorable pink flower.

Almost forgot I had to make a little zipper pouch to go inside my new bag.

I felt like I was a little sweat shop this weekend, but I loved every moment.
